When the mood is willing, and the wind in the right direction, the Men of Woodside can occasionally be heard enjoying a bit of a sing-a-long following an evening’s dance. Often punctuated by the odd tune or two, from the side’s musicians, the songs have proven a popular addition to the side’s more physical exertions.

We have found that there are likely as not a few members of the public that would like to join in, if only they knew the words. Well, Woodside have come up with the perfect strategy for allowing joiner-inners to pitch in with confidence and gusto: The Woodside Songbook.

Packed with folky drinking song goodness, as well as a selection of our favourite Carols for Boxing Day, the song book is not only an invaluable instruction manual for the inexperienced bystander, but also an essential aide memoire to the occasionally lyric blind Woodside Morris Man. Even Geoff, our stalwart leader in song, has been known to occasionally stumble at the gallop during a rousing verse.

So after much discussion with the side, the song book has now been reproduced not only in hard copy, courtesy of Nick W's wonderful banding machine, but also in PDF format, and, most pertinantly to woodsidemorrismen.com, as padding for our website. The latter two available right here. Just click on the songbook links to the right, or below.

So, next time we see you at one of our dos, you'll have no excuse to hide at the back when the singing starts!
